L’ambizione allora era quella di creare una bevanda senza rivali, perciò questa vodka è fatta esclusivamente di segale e acqua pura di sorgente ed è stata distillata ben 5 volte. Mettere a punto il prodotto per Pauline Birch, una giovane e bella signora di Copenhagen che adora il cibo, i drinks e la vita sociale ha significato qualche anno di lavoro, così la vodka è stata pronta per il lancio nel 2009. Nel corso di quegli anni Pauline ha raccolto reazioni ed opinioni delle donne che appartengono al suo target, quello cosmopolita di donne consapevoli che vogliono scegliere il meglio e adorano uscire in compagnia, magari anche solo tra amiche. Tocco finale è la bottiglia di puro cristallo con la scritta in rosso; la confezione esterna, poi, è ispirata al colbacco in pelliccia bianca delle Royal Guards del Castello di Amalienborg.
Oggi Mama Vodka è di casa nei bar e ristoranti più cool di Copenhagen, come il Ristorante Silo al 17 piano di un edificio che guarda il porto o il Cafè Victor o ancora il Balthazar o il Lusso. A Mama Vodka sono stati dedicati alcuni cocktails e qui a Milano, la bevanda si può trovare in numerosi bar, tra l’altro al celebre Bar Basso.
