Burns Night at The London EDITION

This year, The London EDITION is pleased to announce that its Lobby Bar will be transformed into a celebration all things Scottish for Burns Night 2019.

From 7pm until 9pm on Friday 25th January, the public are invited to Lobby Bar where they can expect to mingle to the sound of London’s top Scottish Ceilidh five piece, Licence to Ceilidh, who put a fresh twist on traditional Scottish tunes and dances. In addition, guests can look forward to special menu of Chivas Whisky-based cocktails including Bobby’s Bru – influenced by the nations favourite, Irn Bru.

Bobby’s Bru is a punch made with Chivas 12, coconut Irn Bru, sugar syrup, lemon juice, green tea with a lomon wheel and grated tonka garnish; The Bard is made with Chivas 12, rhubarb bitter, cynar amaro and a cherry garnish; and Sentimental Burns is made with Chivas 12, suze, rin quin quin aperitif, lemon juice, simple syrup, soda water and a lemon wedge garnish. All cocktails are priced at £14.

Complimentary traditional Scottish bites will be making the rounds including both vegetarian and meat haggis balls, followed by a traditional shortbread; two highland staples that were served at the first ever raucous Burns Night celebration way back in 1801. Meanwhile in The London EDITION’s intimate drinking den, Punch Room, guests will be able to bend their own whisky with experts from Chivas’ team.

Burns Night is a Scottish celebration of the life and poetry of Robert Burns, the author of many Scots poems. At its core, the celebration combines haggis, whisky and poetry with festivities and celebrates the anniversary of Robert Burns, who was born on 25th January 1759.

The Lobby Bar at The London EDITION is the perfect place to celebrate Burns Night this year, featuring a roaring fire, billiards table and intimate seating areas with tufted sofas for guests to gather on. Guests can expect an atmosphere heavily influenced by the Gaels and a night of dancing to tunes such as Robert Burns’ Auld Lang Syne.
